Dr. Steven Lome – A Real Cardiologist
A year ago, I posted a blog article entitled “The Best Diet To Treat Heart Disease”. In it, I described information found on cardiologist Dr Steven Lome’s Heartstrong web site. It’s a wonderful web site that provides incredibly useful information for people trying to prevent or reverse heart disease.
Dr. Lome has recently created a YouTube channel called “Dr. Steven Lome Lifestyle Medicine – Plant Based”. This channel is a nice complement to his web site. His most recent YouTube video is called “Prevent and Reverse heart Disease – Be Heart Attack Proof – Evidence Based Cure?”
If you are trying to eat in the most heart-healthy way, but are confused about the conflicting information you’ve received from web sites, friends, relatives, and even cardiologists, I encourage you to check out Dr. Lome’s video which shares the best evidence we have on how to protect and treat our arteries.
Below I’ve pasted some comments he’s already received:
- Annie F. – My husband’s cholesterol was 230 last year , before we switched to whole food plant based way of eating. He was always very active physical and wasn’t a big meat eater, but he loved his cheese. He had SVT , HTN ,migraines , chronic back pain , could not run as he used to any more . After only 4 months of about 80% wfpb his cholesterol dropped to 180, headaches gone. After a year not a single SVT episode, cholesterol 143, BP 110/60, HR-55 , no more back pain and he can now play soccer much longer and without any shortness of breath . As a bonus he also lost 35lb,but just to make it clear, even 20 year ago when he was in the same weight as now he had all those heart issues and always had high cholesterol since his 20th, so all those changes aren’t due to weight loss (for those who will argue that losing weight alone will do it) WFPB is the only way to go for longer healthier life. Incorporating intermitting fasting sometimes can also promote healing. Thank you Dr.Lome for you video!
- M 85 – Finally a real cardiologist who knows what he’s talking about. I’ve had enough of all the clowns and quacks on youtube promoting dangerous nonsense.
- Sarah S. – Great overview! I’m bookmarking this to share. Thank you!
- DH – MD – Great stuff, now if only we could convince every other cardiologist! Keep up the good work!
Keep mining for a heart of gold. And Long May You Run!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing, Dom.
