If you are holding back from transitioning to a WFPB diet because you think that it will be difficult to get adequate protein on such a diet, you can put that thought to rest. As a matter of fact, anyone consuming a WFPB diet will find it virtually impossible to consume inadequate protein. All whole plant foods contain protein. Legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, vegetables and, to a lesser extent, fruit. If you eat a WFPB diet and consume adequate calories, you’ll get enough protein. All plant proteins contain all 9 essential amino acids.
Since I converted to a WFPB diet in March, 2009, I’ve spent exactly zero minutes worrying about protein. Many of the experts on the “Resources” page have written about protein. George Eisman RD has a web site where you can access many articles on protein and plant based diets. Click Here to go to the “protein” page on his site .
