This recipe is easy, inexpensive and tasty.
Don’t be afraid to add your favorite veggies.
Tomato Sauce with Beans
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 Onion (Vidalia or White) chopped
2 cloves of garlic minced
1 can of white beans (cannellini, great northern or white kidney)
1 can (4.5 oz) mushrooms (optional)
Oregano
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
- Drain and rinse beans
- Combine all ingredients in sauce pan and simmer for 20-30 minutes
- Stir occasionally
- Makes enough sauce for ~ 2 lbs of Whole Wheat Pasta*
- Refrigerate or Freeze leftovers.
*100% Whole Wheat Pasta (Spirals or Penne pasta work best)
